Dhirendra is a Co-Founder and the CEO of Milaan. He is also a Co-Founder and the CEO of Azadi Inc., a company that was formed to make menstruation a non-issue in India. Prior to Azadi, he was the Managing Trustee of Vidya Grants India, a subsidiary of Vidya Grants Foundation, USA. He has earned a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Amity University and a Bachelor’s Degree.
A Co-Founder of the organization, he serves as the General Secretary and the Head of Operations. His commitment to quality sets the benchmark for the organization, driving it’s culture and work ethic. A voracious reader, his love of books and the strong belief that given the right instruction anyone can achieve greatness, irrespective of their background, drove him to pursue this line of work.
Neetesh works as the Finance Manager at Milaan. He not only keeps our accounts straight but also provides advice on budgetary matters to the program teams. Sincere and dedicated toward his work, prior to Milaan, he was working with CITY Group of Colleges as Accounts Manager. Neetesh previously worked with Motorsalaes Limited (Passenger Car Dealer of TATA Motors) as Accounts Exe. however he started his career in accounts, audits, and finance under the well-known Chartered Accountant in Lucknow.
Neetesh holds a Bachelors in Commerce from Agra University with diploma in Software Management from Aptech Computer Education. In addition to working with numbers, he loves photography, music, cooking, and surfing the net.
Sunita has a Bachelors Degree in Social work from the University of Lucknow and an adoration for the field of advocacy and empowerment. She has worked in various areas throughout Uttar Pradesh in social work and advocacy. Sunita is working for Milaan on creating a space for adolescent girls in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh in order to start the conversation on menstruation.
An American with a passion for education, empowerment, and advocacy: Alyssa works at Milaan as the Communications and Marketing Strategist. Having worked overseas in Thailand and India for several years in development and education, her commitment to creating access to quality education across the globe brought her to Milaan.
Alyssa has a degree in Anthropology from The University of North Carolina and strives to live her life through the guidance and wisdom of Star Wars.
Ritika graduated with a degree in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Thereafter, she worked with not-for-profit cultural organizations and music projects based in Bombay. At Milaan, she is currently working on Azadi’s ‘making schools menstrual friendly for adolescent girls’ program.
Inspired by Kabir poetry, protest music and rapid fire Aaron Sorkin monologues, she aims to create a body of work at the intersection of public policy, performing arts and culture at large.
Emily works as Milaan’s Outreach Program Manager and is passionate about education for all, gender equality, and human rights. Before joining Milaan, she managed a peer education program for the American Red Cross. She has also worked for a variety of NGOs in the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, and Ecuador supporting education, youth, and social enterprise programs. Emily has a degree in History and International Affairs from Xavier University, as well as a Master’s degree from American University in International Development.
A Political Science graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, Akshay is a part of the Leadership Team at the Milaan School. His work work on the ground with the school also consists of coordinating communications for the team.
Apart from being a noted Hindustani classical musician in a parallel universe, he is also interested in Indian politics, Hindi literature and cinema.
A civil service aspirant with a weird sense of humor and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Ananya is from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
A music lover and a foodie, Ananya’s love of Harry Potter keeps her striving to create the Hogwarts of UP. She currently works for Milaan as a part of the Milaan School Leadership Team.
After completing her education in Electronic engineering, Veena started her career as a mathematics teacher.
On joining U.P Mahila Samakhya in 2000, she worked as a district coordinater in places like Pauri, Mhow and Balrampur helping thousands of women in the field of education, health ,economic empowerment and violence free life, till 2011.
Since 2012 she was involved with international campaigns like ‘We Can.’ During this period she helped prepare “mission convergence “a gender module for the Delhi government. She also designed and developed the Goonj Campaign with Action Aid in Haryana against gender discrimination and female foeticide. From 2013 she has been involved in organising cultural youth festivals and other awareness issues with Dastak organisation in Lucknow.
Currently she is working with Milan as a programme manager in the sphere of empowerment of adolescent girls. She is interested in theatre, poetry, cultural activities, and social activism.
Anoop is a man with a passion for numbers. He works for Milaan as an accountant maintaining the balance.
